Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you are having nice festivities with your families and loved ones. I had intended to put out a full post today for you all to read in the lull after dinner about why we need to encourage small businesses, but between a busy holiday schedule and still learning the rhythm to writing an article every week it wasn’t quite ready.
I don’t come to you empty handed though, I do have some great Galesburg content for you to read. I have very much enjoyed this history of the street car and bus network here in town. From humble beginnings to millions of rides a year to where we are today, it’s a fascinating read. It really shows how the technology of the day really changes how we interact with the world.
Also please go out and support our Galesburg businesses on Small Business Saturday this weekend. It’s a national holiday to promote shopping at small local businesses as opposed to the mega deals at the big stores on black Friday. My next post was going to be a nice tie-in to the holiday but it’ll be out next week.
Anyway Happy Thanksgiving once again! I am very thankful for everyone who reads and all the kind feedback. This newsletter has already exceeded my expectations and it’s just the beginning so I am extremely grateful. Galesburg is going to make a comeback and we’re going to make it a reality. I’m excited for the future to come.
