Happy Holidays!

And a Happy New Year for Galesburg

Hey gang, hope you’re all as ready as possible for your respective holiday traditions! I’ve been busy this week getting ready and seeing friends and family such that I was not able to write a proper article this week. But I’ll be back next week with a piece I’ve been working on for sometime about how we should attempt to redevelop the OT Johnson lot downtown.

So while I don’t have a whole article I thought I would share some of my inspiration. Arguably the single piece of media that exposed me to how I think about towns and wanting to write about Galesburg was this YouTube series about the message of Strong Towns, a non profit that I am inspired heavily by. Part of what Strong Towns did was open my eyes to a new way at looking at our town and tools to tackle those issues. I’ve linked the first video of the 6 part series below and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I am so thankful for everyone who has read my articles, shared them, and subscribed. This has been way more successful beyond any of my expectations. We’re going to build a better Galesburg, we are going to bounce back, the time is here. I’m excited and hope you all are too. Happy Holidays everyone!
