Announcing: the Galesburg Revival Society

Hello Everyone, long time no post!

While I haven’t been posting much to substack that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working on the greater Galesburg project.

I’m very excited to announce that with the help of some friends we are starting a new organization, the Galesburg Revival Society! Our first meeting is July 13th at Opie’s Bar and Grill.

Some of you may have known but at the beginning of the year I had a pulmonary embolism and was way closer to passing than I’d ever like to formally recognize. Through that it gave me a greater urgency to achieve what I want to achieve, and one big thing I want to achieve is a better, revived Galesburg.

So much work has been put into this. Our first meeting is going to be a presentation by myself on the pitch of the organization. The goal is to actually enact the changes Galesburg needs instead of just talking about it. The idea is to take a bottom up approach and make Galesburg a better place to be by making it a better place to be.

Now I’m not wanting to give away the whole pitch because I encourage people to attend the meeting but I will post the text of my speech afterwards. I will also be putting out posters around town and if anyone wants any to hang up let me know although supplies are limited.

But this has been a long time coming and I am really optimistic about the future of Galesburg. The next chapter is here if we work to write it. I hope to see all you there if you can!
